Matched by Ally Condie makes us imagine being a seventeen year old girl living in a world where everything is decided for you. You’ve no say in what you learn, what you eat, what career you’ll choose, who you should marry, or even when you will die.
A glitch when she’s viewing the microchip shows her two possible mates and opens her eyes to see that everything in this society isn’t perfect and that’s a dangerous thought.
What pulls readers into this story is the strong POV in this character driven tale. At its center it’s a love story and the question what would you be willing to risk to learn the truth.
This is another quick read and a marvelous light dystopian tale perfect for a holiday weekend.
