Jump Into A Race Across Grimspace

Grimspace (Sirantha Jax, Book 1)Grimspace by Ann Aguirre is an action packed Science Fiction novel told in first person present tense. That’s common in YA novels, but still fairly unusual in SF.

It works and highlights how deliciously flawed Sirantha Jax is because we experience her from the inside out. We know why she’s prickly, defensive and guilt ridden.

She’s independent but she’s not. She can shield herself from getting hurt but she doesn’t. The Corp played with her brain almost driving her insane, but she figured out their secrets.

Add to this the cool concepts of Grimspace, a way of navigating between worlds only a few genetically gifted can do. Give me an alien planet with Old West badlands flavor. Toss in a hunky, damaged pilot and you are beginning to get a taste for this series by the author of Enclave.
