The Hollow / Jessica Verday

The HollowThe Hollow by Jessica Verday is just the beginning of an addictive  new series that gets better as it progresses in each book.

Here Abbey’s best friend, Kristen, vanishes at the bridge near Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. She misses Kristen and struggles to believe she’s really dead. When Abbey  meets a strange boy named Caspian at her friend’s funeral, Abbey begins to feel normal again.

They meet at the cemetery and near the bridge and while Abbey starts to care for Caspian, she uncovers secrets Kristen hid from her best friend. In The Haunted, the second book, some of the mysterious threads left hanging are finally woven in. It’s not until the conclusion of The Hidden that everything fits into place.

I would recommend reading these together. The Hollow alone will leave you wanting more. The series is a quick read and takes a familiar classic in a new direction. If you like classic retellings, this is a good one for you.
